Your Bankomatiko/Maestro is upgrading to the new and improved Bankomatiko+ Mastercard debit card. A debit card that is better secured, has a wider acceptance and more benefits for you to use in this vastly changing digital world.
If you are an existing Bankomatiko/Maestro cardholder, activation of your new Bankomatiko+ card is simply with a successful Chip and PIN transaction. If you are a first time card recipient, you must use the included new PIN to perform your first transaction. Now you’re ready to use your Bankomatiko+ card in all stores worldwide, for online purchases or at all ATM’s where Mastercard or Cirrus is accepted.
You can now also change your existing PIN at our MCB Group ATMs or any ATM location supporting this feature.
You can process transactions with your Bankomatiko+ card with: Chip & PIN, Tap & GO, Tap & PIN and now also for online purchases. Simply follow the instructions on the POS terminal, ATM or fill in the required information on the website to complete the payment.

Mastercard Global Service provides emergency card-related assistance, anytime, anywhere, via one toll-free phone call.
Purchase Protection provides reimbursement for theft and/or accidental damage of a purchased item within 45 days of the original purchase (max $500 per occurrence). Purchase must be made with an eligible Mastercard card.
Max $100 per year
Max $1,000 per year
Cell Phone Protection provides reimbursement for Damage or Theft of a cellular phone ($400) when the monthly (post-paid) bill is paid using the eligible Bankomatiko+ Premium Mastercard issued by the Bank.
Max 2 events per year
MasterAssist reimburses medical expenses, hotel convalescence, emergency family travel costs, and more. Common carrier tickets must be purchased with an eligible Mastercard card.
Luggage protection Insurance reimburses Cardholders when luggage they check in for travel on a common carrier is delayed (up to $600) or lost in transit (up to $3000). Assistance to locate lost luggage is also available. This coverage is in excess of common carrier’s liability coverage. Common carrier tickets must be purchased with an eligible Mastercard card.
Trip inconvenience coverage for delayed ($200) or cancelled trip ($3000). This coverage is in excess of common carrier’s liability coverage. Common carrier tickets must be purchased with an eligible Mastercard card.

Your current Bankomatiko PIN will continue to work with the new Bankomatiko+ debit card. If you are a new client you will receive a new PIN with your card.
Want to change your PIN?
You are able to change your PIN at all MCB Group ATM’s (Bankomatiko) or other ATM’s that support the PIN change functionality after your card has been activated.
The Bankomatiko+ debit card complies with all the safety standards required by Mastercard International.
The use of the card is subject to daily limits and the Bank provides 24x7 transaction monitoring. In addition, the bank will send out an e-mail alert for all transaction attempts made with your card.
Lost or stolen card
The Bank offers 24x7 support for lost and stolen reporting or card blocking. If your card is lost or stolen please notify The Bank as soon as possible.
The Bankomatiko+ Standard and Bankomatiko+ Premium cards are eligible to earn Fun Miles when making purchases at local merchants.
You will continue to earn Fun Miles if your Bankomatiko/Maestro card was already registered and linked to Fun Miles. To link a new Bankomatiko+ card to your Fun Miles card, please use the browser (website) version of our MCB Online Banking Service.
Your card will be activated automatically with the first successful PIN use at a POS or Bankomatiko (ATM). By activating your new Bankomatiko+ card you agree to accept our General Terms & Conditions.
After more than 30 years in circulation, Mastercard has decided to discontinue the Maestro debit card product, replacing it with the Mastercard debit card commonly used in the United States and many other parts of the world.
The main reason for this decision despite the popularity of Maestro throughout Europe and parts of the Latin American & Caribbean, is its limitation to face-to-face transactions while the Mastercard debit card is accepted anywhere the Mastercard credit card is accepted including online.
Purchases made with your Bankomatiko+ card are placed in a, newly introduced, “hold” tab in Online and Mobile Banking, where the transaction is moved to the “Transaction History” tab after the merchant closes and settles their POS terminal. No, a debit card is directly connected to a bank account while a credit card is linked to a credit line that can be paid off over time. However, the Bankomatiko+ Mastercard Debit card has some of the same functionalities as a Mastercard Credit card such as:
There is no action required from our clients (cardholders). The Bank is performing a gradual migration of all cards to be completed by the end of 2024. The sequence of the migration is determined by the expiration date of the card starting with the cards that will expire as of October 2023.
No, the migration process is free of charge; there is no charge involved with the upgrade of the Bankomatiko+ card.
Existing Bankomatiko cardholders who receive their Bankomatiko+ card during the migration process, can keep using their old PIN with the new card. However, new and existing clients that request a new card at the Bank will receive a new PIN, which can be changed at the ATM.
For new clients the type of card is determined by an income threshold that is conveyed to the client when opening a new account. For existing clients the type of card will be determined by your Bankomatiko spending behavior, where active local and international Bankomatiko users will receive the Premium card while occasional debit card users will receive the Standard Bankomatiko+ card.
The Premium card includes travel related benefits such as health coverage, Trip cancelation, and Lost luggage insurance.
Yes, it will be possible to request an upgrade to the Premium Bankomatiko+ card once the Bank has completed the migration of the Bankomatiko+ portfolio.
The card is activated automatically with the first chip and PIN transaction at a Point-of-Sale terminal (POS) or at an ATM.
Yes, the bank account number will remain the same. However, it will no longer be possible to link more than one checking account and one savings account to your Bankomatiko+ card.
We encourage all accountholders to make use of Online Banking to transfer funds to their main checking and savings accounts as needed.
Yes, we will add 4 years to the expiration date of your Bankomatiko/Maestro card.
Yes, your Bankomatiko/Maestro card will continue working until it expires or when cut-off date is established and announced by the Bank. However, we encourage you to activate and use your new Bankomatiko+ card when received.
The cash withdrawal fees at WIB/ MCB group ATMs will remain the same. The fee for withdrawal at other local Bank’s ATMs will change.
Online purchases do not require a PIN. For online purchases you need your card number, expiry date and CVC2 (3 digit number on the back of the card) if requested.
Yes, it is possible to contact the Bank in order to deactivate the online purchase feature of your card.
All online transactions are monitored in real-time using the latest fraud prevention tools available, including the so-called ‘One Time Passcode’ (OTP) second-factor authentication, which is applied where necessary requiring an action to be taken by the cardholder to complete the transaction. In addition you will automatically receive a notification e-mail for all transaction attempts made with your card. If you do not receive an E-mail Notification please calll our Contact Center at 546-2942.
Yes, both contactless transactions with PIN and without PIN are supported by the Bankomatiko+ card. The maximum amount for a contactless transaction without PIN is NAf. 100,- where the limit is automatically reset with a successful PIN transaction. Certain merchant locations may allow for a contactless transaction to be accepted for higher amounts, in which case a PIN is requested. The maximum amount for a Chip and PIN transaction is NAf. 7.500,- per day.
Yes, you earn Fun Miles with every purchase made at a local point of sale terminal provided that you registered your Fun Miles account with the Bank. Cards migrated from the Bankomatiko/Maestro debit card will automatically be registered to receive Fun Miles with the Bankomatiko+ Mastercard debit card. If your Bankomatiko/Maestro card is not registered for Fun Miles yet, please use WIB Personal Online Banking to register your card or contact our Contact Center at 546 2942.

Bankomatiko+ cards have a daily Point-of-Sale (POS) CHIP transaction limit of NAf. 7,500.- or US$ 4,100.- and a daily ATM CHIP cash withdrawal limit of NAf. 1,820.- or US$ 1,000.-. There’s a daily limit for internet purchases of NAf. 1,000.- or US$ 550.- Please note that these limits are subject to change without prior notice from the Bank. Furthermore, online transactions are subject to fraud prevention rules and the application of a second factor authentication a.k.a. One Time Passcode (OTP) based on risk parameters.
Please contact the Bank to block your card as soon as possible and please visit our Bank’s website and follow the steps to fill in a dispute form.
No the last 7 digits will no longer match your Online Banking UserID. Therefore the Bank recommends you to change your UserID to a self-selected UserID (for example your e-mail address or other) or to make a note of your existing UserId. Please visit the Bank’s website for the instructions how to update.
